We've made it and there's no turning back now...

Here's how the story begins:

A couple years ago, in a faraway country, on a faraway island, in a forgotten hostel, Kent and I crossed paths with a Bostonian couple who put silly ideas into our minds about the possibility of teaching English in far off places, like South Korea.

On February 25th, 2011, we arrived at our teaching abroad destination, Busan, South Korea.

Present Day: We are moved into our new apartment! After 2 nights at a "love motel" our new home become available and now we are in the process of making it our own. (The top 2 pictures are at the "love motel," please note the obscene "love" contraption).

Two hours after deplaning we arrived at the Sogang Language Program- SLP school in Yeonje-gu, Busan. We have our schedules for the semester and yesterday we put in our first of many planning days. Today, March 1, is a national holiday- Independence Day, so we had off and have had a long day of awesome discoveries.

We walked down the Oncheonjang stream and path for miles. We found gim-bab (sushi maki roll) shops...

Bi-bim-bab (traditional dish) shops...

Clothing shops and much, much more...

So... as it stands, right at this moment, we have fallen madly in love with this country. The foods, the fashion, the crazy-death-scare driving, the efficiency and the way the old traditions of older generations are still present today.

  2. You know I don't like the words crazy-death-scare driving but that's why you are there and not me :) I am so excited for you both! You have so much love to share with the people there. I know some people in SC who could use that love......and some English lessons :) Love you, Sherri and family
